This is a companion piece to ‘Open Secret’ that Berlier installed in the adjacent window on the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art’s façade. The window appears to be bricked over, obstructing the ability to see inside the building and thereby suggesting that there may be something to hide behind the wall. The piece also makes reference to René Magritte’s ‘The Empty Picture Frame’ from 1934.
