Berlier was extremely close to her great aunt Ceil and spent lots of time with her on her farm in Indiana. The wood in this sculpture is from a walnut tree that originally stood on ceil’s farm. Without a particular vision for a sculpture, Ceil and Berlier worked on this wood together, cutting and sanding and talking. It wasn’t until years after her death that Berlier realized the final piece. The title is a direct quote from Ceil during one of their last conversations.
